Can you tell us about your journey as CEO and co-founder of Corti?
Corti was founded in 2016 in Copenhagen by Lars Maaløe and me. Lars, with his PhD in machine learning, and my experience as a multi-entrepreneur in AI from Scandinavia to Silicon Valley, has made for a solid partnership. We’ve always been driven by a belief in AI’s transformative potential for healthcare. We started Corti as a research company, with a bold thesis that Generative AI would become an integral part of every patient interaction in real time. At the time, this was a radical idea, but it has since proven to be viable. Initially, we focused on emergency medicine, assisting in detecting cardiac arrests and managing COVID-19 calls. Today, we are building the most reliable and effective Generative AI platform tailored to healthcare’s unique needs, scaling globally to enhance real-time consultations across healthcare and reducing the margin for error by up to 40%.
How do recent strategic partnerships with companies like Northland & Companies, Voice Products Inc., and RelyMD align with Corti’s vision for transforming healthcare?
Our partnerships reflect the growing recognition of Corti’s AI not just for its potential to improve the bottom line, but for its ability to enhance care quality and ease the burden on caregivers. Collaborating with respected organizations like Northland, Voice Products Inc., and RelyMD enables us to extend our impact across diverse healthcare settings—from telemedicine and emergency response to routine consultations and coding. For instance, our partnership with Northland will enhance the efficiency and accuracy of over 150,000 healthcare and public safety professionals across the U.S. With each partnership, we’re driving wider adoption, alleviating the strain on healthcare systems, and fostering a brighter future for both providers and patients.
How has your experience in healthcare technology helped you navigate the integration of AI solutions with existing healthcare systems to drive both innovation and operational efficiency?
In healthcare, progress must be practical. We can’t just innovate; we have to integrate. Corti was designed as a foundational element for next-generation healthcare technology, with an adaptable API that integrates seamlessly with virtually any platform, making it the most robust and flexible GenAI solution available today. However, for those who prefer it – usually smaller operations – we also provide off-the-shelf products for them to simply turn on and use. The diversity and complexity of healthcare systems require adaptability, and that’s the key to unlocking the transformative power of our technology. From emergency calls to outpatient visits, Corti enhances every patient interaction, setting new industry standards at the highest quality.
Drawing from Corti’s rapid growth and success, what significant advice would you offer to budding entrepreneurs and industry professionals aiming to make an impact in healthcare technology?
My advice is to stay laser-focused on the patient and the problem. Healthcare is not just another sector; it’s a realm where lives are literally at stake. Understand the issues deeply, collaborate closely with those on the frontlines, and develop solutions that truly add value. Expect resistance and embrace complexity; healthcare moves cautiously, and for good reason. Patience, perseverance, and a commitment to impact over profit will serve you well. Always measure success by the lives you touch and improve, not just the bottom line.
